My source for this list is Great Lakes Lighthouses: American & Canadian [GLL], by Wes Oleszewski. It’s a short list lol, since Pennsylvania only has a tiny bit of Lake Erie. I’ll start in the east and work my way westward. This won’t take long. 😛
My primary source for this list is Great Lakes Lighthouses: American & Canadian [GLL], by Wes Oleszewski; however, I have also made extensive use of LighthouseFriends.com [LF], Lighthouses of New York: Greater New York Harbor, Hudson River and Long Island [LNY], Lighthouses of New York [LNY2] and Sentinels in the Stream: Lighthouses of the St. Lawrence River [SS], and Seaway Trail Lighthouses. I will start with the lighthouses on the Lake Erie, at the westernmost end of the state, and continue my way westward along Lake Ontario. After Lake Ontario, we will continue along the St. Lawrence River and then make a couple of jumps – first over to visit the lighthouses of Lake Champlain and then over to the Hudson River, before making our way finally to the lighthouses of New York Harbor and Long Island. A nice little coffee table book, good on the pictures, short on the info. Nicely organized, tho’
A nice little take-along guide, in map format (laminated). Contains a number of “holes” (missing lighthouses) but conversely, also contains lighthouses not listed in other sources. Points to the advantages of using multiple sources when lighthousing.
A nice little book, although it doesn’t really contain much information that isn’t covered in other, far more extensive, books.

I will start with the lighthouses on the eastern most point of the lake, on the U.S. side (NY State), and make my way westward along the U.S. side of the lake. At Toledo we cross over to the other side of the lake and make our way back eastward, quickly crossing over to the Canadian side. Another so-so book. Great pictures, limited on the info on actual lighthouses and where to find them. Sucky organization of said info.
