Lighthouses

Indiana has a very small number of lighthouses, tucked waaayyy down in the bottom of Lake Michigan. My primary source for this list is Great Lakes Lighthouses: American & Canadian [GLL] by Wes Oleszewski, but I have also made use of The Northern Lights: Lighthouses of The Upper Great Lakes [NL] by Charles K. Hyde.

I’m going to start with the easternmost corner of the state, with lighthouses of Lake Erie [St. Clair River/Lake St. Clair], and then move on to the Lake Huron lighthouses, working my way westward along the lake until I get to the Straits of Mackinac which feeds into Lake Michigan, and then go down the eastern coast of Lake Michigan until we get to Indiana. Skipping over the lighthouses in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, we’ll pick it back up again in the upper half of the state on the western side of Lake Michigan, and then doubling back to the lighthouses on Lake Superior.
