Conversion Table for White Flour
In recipes that do call for white flour, I always substitute almond flour or coconut flour instead.
Almond Flour
You have to use double the amount of almond flour.
If recipe calls for | Use |
---|---|
1/4 cup white flour | 1/2 cup almond flour |
1/3 cup white flour | 2/3 cup almond flour |
1/2 cup white flour | 1 cup almond flour |
2/3 cup white flour | 1 and 1/3 cups almond flour |
3/4 cup white flour | 1 and 1/2 cups almond flour |
1 cup white flour | 2 cups almond flour |
1 and 1/2 cups white flour | 3 cups almond flour |
2 cups white flour | 4 cups almond flour |
Coconut Flour
With coconut flour, you use 1/4 as much as white flour, but you must add extra moisture (water, oil, butter, and/or egg) to the recipe.
If recipe calls for | Use |
---|---|
1/4 cup of white flour | 1 tablespoon coconut flour |
1/2 cup white flour | 2 tablespoons coconut flour |
3/4 cup white flour | 3 tablespoons coconut flour |
1 cup white flour | 1/4 cup coconut flour |
1 and 1/2 cups white flour | 1/4 cup + 1/8 cup coconut flour |
2 cups white flour | 1/2 cup coconut flour |
