My primary source for this list is Great Lakes Lighthouses: American & Canadian<\/a> [GLL], by Wes Oleszewski; however, I have also made extensive use of LighthouseFriends.com<\/a> [LF], Lighthouses of New York: Greater New York Harbor, Hudson River and Long Island<\/a> [LNY], Lighthouses of New York<\/a> [LNY2] and Sentinels in the Stream: Lighthouses of the St. Lawrence River<\/a> [SS], and Seaway Trail Lighthouses<\/a>. I will start with the lighthouses on the Lake Erie, at the westernmost end of the state, and continue my way westward along Lake Ontario. After Lake Ontario, we will continue along the St. Lawrence River and then make a couple of jumps – first over to visit the lighthouses of Lake Champlain and then over to the Hudson River, before making our way finally to the lighthouses of New York Harbor and Long Island.
